I’m an 18-year-old interior design student living in Manchester (birthday in August, if you’re planning a studio party). I study at the University or Salford, where I’m learning to shape areas that feel generous even when the footprint is small.
My influences: biophilic design, Scandinavian warmth, and the quiet confidence of British craft — timber joints, woven textiles, objects with a story.
I start with light and how people move. Then material — plaster, oak, linen — before colour. Terracotta and eucalyptus show up often; so does coastal blue when a space needs air.
I’m realistic about student budgets and rental constraints. Good design shouldn’t wait for a blank-cheque renovation.
